Support grips

Support grips are used as a load relieving suspension for temporary or permanent cable installations.

Used as cable support, including demanding environments such as coastal wind turbines and pumping stations.

The grips must not be used for lifting. This applies to every model in the range.

ADO: Support grip, double eye, split

  • Braided from single tempered galvanised or stainless wire
  • Double strap with soft wire rope eyes (or eyes with pressed thimbles)
  • Split grip with lace-up closure

ADO is a series of split support grips with a double strap and eyes of soft wire rope, intended to support light to medium heavy cable. The model is fitted with soft wire rope eyes and can also be supplied with pressed thimbles. All A models are available galvanised or in stainless steel.

ASK: Snap-lock support grip, side eye

  • Braided from double tempered galvanised wire
  • Standard or long mesh
  • Single strap with soft wire rope eye
  • Split mesh locked with metal snap fasteners

ASK is a series of split snap-lock grips used as cable support. Every snap-lock grip has double wire and a single side mounted strap. The mesh is locked with metal snap fasteners.

How to read the tables

  • The mesh length is given at nominal diameter.
  • The eye length is given for an unloaded eye.
  • BS is the breaking strength, given in kilograms.
  • The weight is given in kilograms.

Reservations about breaking strength

BS is the average of measured breaking strengths for new, unused grips. The breaking strength varies with the material, shape and diameter of the object the grip is fitted to, and the variation can reach 25 percent. Pulling grips should never be loaded above 1/3 of BS and support grips never above 1/5 of BS. More about breaking strength and safety factor
